so he just grabbed a knife,

He started to cry

and said "I'm going to die"

His mum walked in she grabbed the knife

"son live your life"

so he said okay 

and that following day

He was happy and

never got sassy

How To Get To Sylvia Park!

• First get out of your house then go into the car
• Drive towards the white apartment on Tippet Street then turn right and drive straight until you reach the end of the street
• Next turn right onto Pilkington Road and drive to the roundabout
• Take the second exit onto Pilkington road and just drive straight
• Turn right onto Jellicoe Road and drive
• When you reach the traffic lights turn right into Morrin Road
• At the next traffic light turn left into Te Horeta Road
• Drive all the way until you get to Mount Wellington Highway
• Drive straight past Countdown
• Drive down a slope going near a shopping centre
• Turn left at the first traffic lights
• Then at the roundabout take the second exit and drive
• Then drive a bit straight and turn into the rooftop parking lot next to Pak'n Save and you have arrived

How To Get To A New Destination I Made

1) Start at the diamond with the A in the middle.  make sure you are facing the staff room.
2) Take eight steps forward
3) Take 22 steps going diagonally to the left
4)Turn around
5) Take 14 steps forward then stop
6) 14 steps going diagonally to the right
7) Once you are at the gate turn to your right.
8) 32 steps forward then turn right
9) 12 steps forward 
10) 20 steps going diagonally to the left
11) At the grey wall you should see a smiley emoji
12) You have reached you destination.

I learnt that if you have clear instructions it will be easy to follow and that the more you re-read it the more it will make sense.

How To Draw A Portrait Of Yourself...

Today I will teach you how to draw a picture of yourself. I will explain to you what to do while you follow these instructions.

First you have to place your paper in portrait not landscape and draw an oval in the middle of you page that is almost a big as your paper but leave some space for your hair. Now you get a ruler and place it in the middle, then you have to draw a few short lines across the page make sure they are straight. Next you draw a line the same as the other but from up to down, when you have done that go beneath the line that goes side ways and leave a space and draw another line the same as the one going side ways. Now you should have an oval with one line going from up to down and two lines with spaces between them going from one side to the other.

Then you have can start drawing the features I would recommend drawing the eyes first, if your eyes are big and round draw big and round eyes. If you have small eyes that look like ovals then draw eyes that look like ovals don't worry about speeding just take your sweet time!

 Once you have completed that draw a nose if you have a flat nose draw it, if your nose goes straight down then to the sides draw it! After that you draw your lips I don't care if they are fat or tiny what so ever just draw it because they are your lips and no one can change that except you!

When you draw your eyebrows draw actually how they look. It doesn't matter if they aren't on fleek because usually everyone's eyebrows aren't. Also make sure you draw your eyelashes. If you have very longg eyelashes draw them long, but if they are short draw short ones. Also shade some of the side of your face so it kind of looks real.

Finally you draw your type of hair style and you have finally finished!

2 weeks ago an artist named Ariel came with Zoe. If you don't know who Zoe is she is the daughter of Mrs Hoebriggs. She came with Ariel to teach us how we can do art with plants. One colour that was a plant was called Turmeric, Ariel said she found some plants and cooked them in a pot with boiling water. She even made a rug with squares that had different colours of the plants. It smelled weird but had a good colour it was bright and looked like a water colour but without the water in it.

DANGER!

The Story i read was called Danger Man. It was about when 4 boys went to the zip line and after that got caught.

First what happened was a boy was wide awake at dawn, it was about 5:30 am and he decided to wake up his best friend named Josh and go on a tour around the camp. Next they decided to go with their 2 friends named Luke and Ryan. Josh was the crazy one in the group and took risks. 

When they were touring they found a zip line, Josh wanted to go on it but the rest didn't so Josh got on and started to get closer to the middle. The more Josh got into the middle the lower he got, then after he was in the middle he was about to fall in so he said "Help Me". The boys saw a raft but there was no paddle so they grabbed a stick. The moment they got in the water they paddled, then when they got to him Josh let go. The water splashed then the 3 boys laughed and Josh yelled at them.

The worst part was they got caught and so they knew what was coming they were going to clean the toilet bowl with their toothbrush.

That is why the story is called "Danger Man". Also the author is Mark Sizer and the Illustrator is Mat Tait.

The World Celebrates Green Day!...

All around New Zealand, there are a lot of events happening because of Saint Patrick's Day! Each year in New Zealand Saint Patricks Day is celebrated on the 17th of March.

The first celebration of Saint Patrick's day was in the United States specifically Boston in 1737. The largest celebration to celebrate Saint Patrick's day parade is in New York, I don't know why it is the largest but who knows why?

Patrick was born in Britan in the year 387. Patrick's real name was actually Maewlyn Succat. The name St Partick was given to him later in his life by a woman named Pope Celestine. Later on at the age of sixteen, he was kidnapped by pirates and was sold into slavery in Ireland. Saint worked as a shepherd and started turn into a different religion into a Devout Christian. After six years when he was 21, he escaped and flew back to Britain.

St Patrick sadly died at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland, then on March 17, he was believed to be buried in Downpatrick, County Down!

That is why we celebrate Saint Patrick's Day!

Warriors Win!

The Warriors have won their first game of 2018 with an impressive win of 32-20 against South Sydney at Optus Stadium!

They have been struggling this year but they looked better when they tackled and look way more fit than last year. Most importantly they finished the game with not one single person with an injury! Their other game was against the Titans last week on the weekends.

Bad News...About Stephen Hawkings...

Do you know Stephen Hawkings? If you do good on you but if you don't you will know from this post. First of all the basics, the way you pronounced his name isn't (Stephen Hawkings) but it's pronounced as (Steven Hawkings) but that is just how you spell it.

Hawkings peacefully died at his home in Cambridge, UK. Hawkings was mostly known for his work with black holes and relativity and also wrote several science books one of the most popular ones is called A Brief History Of Time.

At the age of 22, he was given only a few years to live then he would die, after being found with a medical problem with a rare form of motor neuron disease if you don't know what a motor neuron disease is it is a very bad medical problem that can not be cured.
The illness left Hawkings in a wheelchair and he was unable to speak except through a voice synthesiser. Also, a voice synthesiser is an electronic device that speaks what you text through your device in a human voice.

Jacinda Adern at Polyfest...

A lot of kids from the Pacific Islands participated in the Polyfest last week!

Polyfest is four days of the Pacific culture with music, food, and competitions. Among all the 242 people there was a special person who went who just came from Raratonga, guess who, you give up, if you don't comment who you think it is right now if you give up I'll tell you. It was our prime minister great I know right, it was New Zealand's own Jacinda Adern! She was the first ever Labour prime minister to ever attend Polyfest.

The Trip To A Big School

Today, a few students from our school went to Saint Kentigern College to do some sport activities. The first time we were with them they came to our school, but then they decided why not them come to us. It was quite fun sometimes but was also a bit boring. From our class in my group was Alamoni, Kymani, Shaniqua, Faye & Militina. Mrs Riley and Miss Misela went around to check on each group on how they were doing, but then there was an incident with one of my classmates.

Ed Sheeran In Dunedin!

Dunedin's city council has decided to spend $8000 on a street picture of Ed. 

Ed will probably be preforming in Dunedin around Easter time, and to celebrate they got a professional artist to paint a picture of Ed to welcome him! The design has been approved by Ed, but a few people are not happy with this decision. They think all that money should be spent on important things people need, not want. The street art will be finished by next week. Also not only is he going to Dunedin but he will be coming to Dunedin and Auckland later in the month.

A Secret Bottle In Spain?

On March 14th a family in the northern part of Spain found a message from New Zealand that was sent eight years ago! The person who sent it was a boy, his name was Julian Joy in the message had his address, and age in a wine bottle. Last month the people in Whangarei received a response from a German woman, her name was Luisa she said it was her mother that found the note in a place called Mundaka on the Atlantic coast of Spain. Julian's mother said, "We'd forgotten all about the bottle because it was eight years and we were just so excited to see if it got anywhere!" She thought that it would never make it out of Whangarei harbor but apparently, it did!

One Of The Greatest Games...The Commonwealth Games!

What I Know About the Commonwealth Games..

This years commonwealth games are held in Australia, to be specific Gold Coast in April. If you don't know where Australia is, it is near some of the Pacific Islands like Tonga, Samoa and many more. Some sports are include like soccer touch and a few more I don't know. If I had to pick out of soccer or touch I'd say touch, I chose touch because in soccer you could trip because the ball and in touch there is no tackling and referees can see if someone cheats. To be honest I think the Commonwealth Games are exactly like the Olympics. Different countries like New Zealand , Australia, Scotland and a lot more gather and play. It has been going for 6 years I think.

I want to know who created the Commonwealth games and when it started? Who is running the Commonwealth games? Why we have the Commonwealth games? How long until it will end?

L:
I learnt that there are 53 countries in the Commonwealth.  It started on the 11th of December 1930. The person who is running the Commonwealth Games is The British Empire. Did you know that only six teams have attended the Commonwealth Games every year. This year it will start on April 4th and finish on April 15th, also it happens every 4 years.

The Blind Dog

There once was a dog                           

Who was blinded from the fog

He tried to find food

He was about to jump off the bed, 

but he thought the floor was red

The Horrible Cyclone

Thousands of people here in New Zealand have lost power because of Cyclone Gita. Christchurch, Grey District, Selwyn, Westland, Tasman and Taranaki are under state of emergency. 500 people made emergency calls because of this bad disaster. In the South Island about 200 people are still trapped after spending the night in their busses after state highway 6 was closed.

Plastic On Raglan Beach

Plastic experts have been finding hundreds of tiny bits of plastic in Raglan beach. If you didn't know like me, Raglan beach is in Hamilton. A woman called Anna Cummins was touring the beach and she found a lot of plastic in some non expected areas. Some locals told Anna that the beach was very clean and so she thought it was but realised when you go on your knees and move some of the natural litter you will see.

Anna said "New Zealand isn't as clean an green as it could be". The plastic in the beach were causing a lot of trouble. So please when you go to a beach not pollute it, because once one person starts putting rubbish in the water others will start to copy also.

Boring Test..

This week we have been doing a lot of testing. First we did a reading test and yesterday on Thursday we did a maths test. To be honest I think some of the questions were misleading but I warmed up to them, and most of the questions were easy because I knew what they were talking about.
I think the reading test was much easier because I was at an extraordinary standard to understand the words.
